I will let you know how it goes. My wife says I will have to sleep with it. With my back, that is not an option. hehehe

Steve, Roseville, CA (will see the Flex this afternoon and decide)

Well, she has graduated to a Honda Shadow 750 and has offered the scoot back to me. For $i,000.00 don't see to much bad about it. She only put 1300 miles on it. My wife is against it due to my back surgery, But................i want it!!!

I keep my 'Flex in SoFla too and it has no problem sitting for a month without running. I don't add anything to the gas. It takes a few extra cranks to get it started, but it runs fine

--- Question #2
> I keep the Reflex in So Florida and there will be 6-8 week periods where it will not be run. I am aware of the ethanol problems and full tank storage, but fuel preservatives have not really worked well for me in the past. Has anyone found an easy way to add a fuel cut off switch so I can run it dry, or hasn't this been a problem with the Reflex? or can the carburetor bowel be drained easily?

Without starting a big debate over safety issues of using a car tire on my reflex rear, I am ready to try it. I don't need performance, I need longevity for a commuter vehicle. The problem is I can't find a shop to put it on.. a car place wont touch a cycle wheel and a cycle place won't touch a car wheel. I live in South Florida..I have been to Tire Kingdom, Wal Mart, Sears and Firestone..anyone on this group have any decent ideas..please keep the wisecracks.

If you bring the new tire and the wheel (off the bike) to a motorcycle shop
I think you will have better luck.

I tried that ..they spotted the car tire a kilometer away..plus, Honda dealers prefer to service "what they sell"

Look for an independent motorcycle shop. Stay away from dealers.
Or.... bring it to Ventura, CA and I'll install it for free

Go to a small independent dealer. They are able to make decisions at their level and are not bound by corporate policy.

Hi Floodgateus,

Tony is right. The best service you can get is at those small independant tire stores, and if a motorcyclist happens to work there, or maybe own the place, your chance of getting to mount the car tire just tripled.

The owner of the independant tire shop I go to in Garden City, MI, is a long time darksider and rides a Harley. So he knew what I was planning before I did. When I bought the last Hoop from him and complained about the mileage, he just smiled and said there were other options.

Thanks for the help Tony Tim and Craig, I know a bunch of small-indy
stores...just look for the ones with a motorcycle out front.I again have the confidence to do this myself.

question to current owners

Posted by: "gizmoear" gizmoear@yahoo.com   gizmoear

I currently ride a scooter with 16" wheels front and rear. I'm seriously thinking of adding a Reflex. Has anyone here rode both a large wheel scooter and a Reflex? If so I'd like to hear a comparison between the two. My area has some of the worst roads in the U.S.- my opinion- and I'm a bit worried how the smaller wheels will respond. Any and all responses are appreciated. Also- is there any problem areas I should look for with the Reflex? I haven't heard anything negative that stands out so far.

The new group picture is cool. Probably in a year I'll be ready for another change, but the action picture is excellent.

The only thing I see wrong with the picture is that the highbeam isn't
on......
