Good news; after changing the spark plug, recharging the battery, letting it run for a while and then upping the idle speed to 1500, it seems to be running well now. I think it the rough running before was (mostly?) a function of the cold weather, a non-cold weather spark plug, an older spark plug, and having an idle at about 1350. Now I just need to replace the busted tupperware and I'll be happy. Thanks for the advice.

Please clarify - do you make them, sell them, or just have some spares?

Please post a link to you in the LINKS section if you are willing to sell to others.

How about resurrecting the out-of-production "Super Wings"?

Any 12v electric fuel pump either for a carbureted (non-fuel-injected) engine, or one with an adjustable pressure setting should be fine. The potential problem is that ones made for a large engine or a fuel-injected engine may overwhelm the float/valve in the carb.

Unfortunately, there is no spec for fuel PRESSURE, only fuel FLOW (min. 16oz / min.).

I noticed the honda pump had more then 2 wires -- maybe 3 or 4. wonder
what the other wires are for?

Only 3 exit the connector - ground, Ignition on, and Kill switch. Either the Ignition switch or the Kill switch can disable the fuel pump and ignition coil.

I suspect the next question you may have is how to hook up a non-stock electric pump.

If you actually get one, I will figure it out for you...

If you guys do this, can you put it up in the files section? I would
certainly consider an auto pump if mine ever fails, so this interests me
greatly.

I replaced the fuel filter with a VW type 3/16 hose.. cost $4.50. Had to
remove the gas line from the carb to prime the filter...and get the gas to
flow...cause the pump was pumping like crazy and not pulling gas through
the filter.. I'm a diesel mechanic but not use to working
on these little scooters.. was thinking the pump was working on its last
leg's... anyhow
after the filter change and valve adjustment my 03 Reflex with 15000 miles
runs great again.. but is it normal to get the gas to flow the way I
did..? Thanks Bruce for all the info.. this
forum is great!

  1. I've been having some problems with my own reflex. It starts but every time I even TOUCH the throttle the thing dies. I'm thinking the spark plug but I don't have the cash to spare to just go randomly replacing things on it.
