Your '07 battery should be good for several years of regular use. I ride year round and just replaced my '06 OEM battery and it was clearly needed.

You can store your "spare" for five years or more in a cool, dry place. You should trickle-charge it every three to six months to prevent complete self-discharge.

In some cases, stores will take your battery back. Most will not.

You can sell it on eBay.

You might consider consulting another dealer, too. Or, even better, the membership on this message board.

Well I bought one but when I got the scoot out and riding I can't see any problem with the one I have installed (factory). Can I just store the new one till I start having problems?

How about taking it back to the dealer who suggested you needed a new
one.......

If you google 'skis on motorcycle' you will find lots of links. This has been done long ago -

Next, google 'skis on motorcycle' and this time hit 'images' and look at what has been done!

Then, go to:

http://redlegsrides.blogspot.com/2007/12/skis-for-bmw-gs-motorcycle.html

click on the video and watch how they work! (they really do work well!)

Don't need them here in south Florida...

When I WAS IN cHINA I saw a man carrying a large pig tied to the back of a scooter.
Skis should be easy.

This should work. Construct [or have made] a rectangular box approximately 9"x9"x36" and mount to the luggage rack as you would any other luggage box, as shown in picture. The skis will slide into the back, and while driving, they will be parallel to the ground. Another method, perhaps even simpler, would be to get a piece of 6" diameter PVC pipe about 3 feet long and mount that to the luggage rack instead, placing the skis securely inside. There are many solutions to this problem. Good luck.
