Still can't open seat-Help

The rear lock on my 2001 reflex will not open, I think the spring that triggers the latch has fallen off. I can lift the side up an inch or two but that's it. I know I'll have to do some damage but I'd like to keep it to a minimum. In truth I'm not sure how to get it open at all. I've tried to force it by hand and my limited brute strength hasn't worked. I've tried a crow bar with a square of wood inside the trunk and another over the bar to distribute the impact. I'm afraid of slipping off the trunk board and going through the trunk. Bottom line, didn't work. I've thought of cutting into the seat to access the rear area. I can't remove the body panels -unable to get to the screws etc. inside the trunk area. I've thought of a reciprocating saw, not sure there's room and I don't think it would cut through a steel latch that big, and I don't see how I could fit a bolt cutter in there. HELP!

I'm sure a sawsall with metal cutting blade would do it. But first, try sitting on the seat and turning the key.

Sometimes, I have to hammer my fist down HARD on the center of the seat, or bounce on it while turning the key to release the pressure against the latch. That has always worked for me.

I use synthetic oil and change mine every 3,000 miles approx.

I ride 400 miles a week, and I also change the spark plug with every oil
change (1.99 at advanceauto)

All of my riding is highway. 41,000 now and no signs of slowing down!

What kind of motor oil goes to 2004 Honda  Reflex ?

Joe,  what spark plugs are you using for your Scoot?  Is it NGK or Denso?

SP HOT = NGK DPR8EA-9 or Denso X24EPR-U9
SP COLD = NGK DPR7EA-9 or Denso X22EPR-U9

Im currently using a Denso Iridium Power IX24B plug.  My idle is not that smooth but power and torque is OK.  I think I need to go back to NGK original plugs.  Thanks.

I use the NGK's dpr7ea9, but this time since we're running 16 degrees in the
mornings, I'm going to put in a dpr6ea9 to help it with the fuel air mixture
as the air is so damn cold here

*****************************************************************************************

My idle is not that
smooth but power and torque is OK. I think I need to go back to NGK
original plugs. Thanks.

Change every 3,000 miles and put about 10,000 a year on scooter.

I use synthetic oil and change mine every 3,000 miles approx.

I ride 400 miles a week, and I also change the spark plug with every oil
change (1.99 at advanceauto)

All of my riding is highway. 41,000 now and no signs of slowing down!

Luggage for 2001 Reflex

I've got an '01 'Flex and was wondering if anyone knows what kind of luggage might fit on the back of the Reflex where the wing is. I've found Givi's for '06s and up but nothing for an '01. Thanks in advance for assistance.

Bestem makes removable luggage boxes as well as some other vendors.
Anything that fits the '06 will fit the '01.

They are called T-Box, here's the link to what they sell for the reflex:

the 2008 and 2009 model fits the reflex nicely. I have a 929 on my
Silverwing.

Hope that helps, I'm sure others will chime in and give you other options.
