Body panels interchangeable through the years / changing colors?

Hey Reflex owners! I'm new to the list, this is my first post. I don't own a reflex (yet!) but I'm currently in the market for one. I'm actually looking at an 01 now that has some body damage (mostly on the rear) , and when I was browsing through the parts fiche for a honda place online I noticed that for 01 the rear fenders are not listed by color (which makes it seem like you have to have them painted) while the newer ones (04~ +) are listed with the specific color name next to the part. That got me thinking... what if I just wanted to replace all the plasics with those from another year? Not exactly a cheap solution, but a fun thought exercise maybe? Anyway, my first question is "is this possible". Would the plastics from say an 04 sport work on an 01 Reflex? And secondly, here's the list of parts that I've compiled by going through the fiches and picking out everything that appears to be painted honda's 04 black color. Can those of you who
have taken a Reflex part tell me if I'm missing anything here? (the numbers are the dollar prices rounded up to the nearest dollar... for parts with a L and R side I just added the cost of both sides together and rounded up).

All of the body parts are the same throughout the US production run of Reflex - only the colors vary.
Used parts are often available on eBay - also some cycle salvage yards. Look in the LINKS section.

Yes, the body parts are interchangeable. It is possible that the earlier part numbers didn't have color codes because there was only one color available.
You can also change a sport to a regular or regular to a sport or any combination. My '04 "Sport" model has a tall (Givi) windscreen and a regular rear wing. It also has standard model mirrors.
My old '02 "Regular" has the sport handlebar treatment.
All painted parts should be the same and available in various colors using the desired color code when ordering.
The color code on my '04 sport is: NH237
HTH
TravlinTim (whose rear wing is '02 Red) Hansen

ABS vs. Base Model
Posted by: "jaluvri" jaluvri@yahoo.com jaluvri

Has anyone rode both a base model and an ABS model? Should I set aside a GOOD deal on a base to pursue an ABS model? Most I find seem to be base models. Real world experience in this matter would be helpful. Thanx for your help guys!!

Good advice!
Even I, the cave man now has a cell phone. Got it last Xmas from the wife who was tired of not being able to get a hold of me. 1.2 meg pics should be good for any accident scene and then you have Proof. I think that is Very good advice to everyone regarding any sort of accident, especially if the guy is going to hit and run....if you aren't waiting for the ambulance, start taking pictures. In this guy's case the first one should have been of his license plate............
