Why don't you consider getting one of these?

http://tinyurl.com/yh79rjp

I got tired of changing the rear out almost twice a year, and now use this. It's not totally 100% fine engineering but does get the job done. It should be anchored to the floor though.

Of course, when I put my car tire on the rear, I won't be needing it as often. At that time, it will also be time for the belt, rear drive lube and the Dr. Pulley sliders going in too. With this blizzard going on, seems this work will be a while before it gets done.

Why not take the tire & wheel to a tires store, like Big O Tire.
Most will change the tire for you,and not charge very much.

Never had or noticed any balancing issues.

There are others here and elsewhere who use this changer also. Have never heard any Flexer mention balance disorders. This truly has paid for itself with the first 2 or 3 tire changes. Plus, scheduling shop time is no longer an issue, nor waiting there for your ride to be serviced. That was always a drag.

Many tire outlets don't have a balancer which will accommodate our scooter tires so they just use a bubble balancer. They are pretty inexpensive and this can easily be done by an individual.

It is important to have all wheels balanced to avoid uneven wear and
the uncomfortable thumping/vibration from an out of balance tire. It
is a rare thing for a tire to be naturally balanced when it is first
mounted. Rarer yet for it to remain that way as the tire wears.

Myself, I am using what is called Dynabeads. Basically very small
ceramic beads that freely move around in the tire as it rolls. I
don't know the name of the effect, but it works. Here's a demo.

http://www.youtube/watch?=eq263AYgyYg

I use 2 oz. Dynabeads in the front tire and 3 oz. Dynabeads in the
back tire of both of my scoots. The nice thing about Dynabeads is
that your tires will remain balanced even as the tire wears. With
lead weights, as the tire wears, it eventually becomes more and more
out of balance.

Michaerl,

Why not use a tire sealant like P2J instead? Does the same thing for balancing the tire but also offer puncture sealing as well.

Actually, Ride-On was the sealant I had in mind. Don't use Slime. It's not approved for our rims.
